Parents protest as MacLeod speaks at private breakfast in Peterborough

Community and Social Services Minister Lisa MacLeod gave a speech at a private event at the Best Western hotel in Peterborough on Saturday morning while a dozen parents of children with autism protested outside.

The speech was barred to all but ticket-holding Conservatives; reporters weren’t allowed inside, and although MPP Dave Smith was there, he had no comment for the Examiner.

On the sidewalk outside the hotel, Christiana Ripley protested with her son Alex, 5, who has autism and needs intensive therapy.
